In practice
Built for the work.
Use case
Bring 400G into an AI lab rack
Use the CRS812 as a top-of-rack leaf: connect GPU servers, workstations and storage at 50G and 200G, and uplink to the spine over 400G. MikroTik names labs and AI clusters, where fast east-west traffic between nodes is critical, as a target use.
Integration
Marvell switching with ARM control plane
Ports comprise 2x 400G QSFP56-DD, 2x 200G QSFP56, 8x 50G SFP56, 2x 10G Ethernet and an RJ45 serial console. A Marvell 98DX7335 switch chip is paired with a quad-core 2 GHz ARM CPU (AL52400), 4 GB RAM and 512 MB NAND. Power draw is 134 W max in a 1U chassis with two hot-swap PSUs and four hot-swap fans.
